Session Details
- Session Name: Love Se Charcha – Season 1
- Duration: 70 minutes
- Total Participants: 25
- Format: Online interactive discussion
Key Topics and Queries Discussed:
The participants raised several relevant and timely queries, including:
- A rise in the number of de-shaped mushrooms observed after the pinning stage.
- The effects of Delhi’s extreme and unpredictable weather (in both summers and winters) on compost composition and required changes in growing methods.
- The impact of repeated rainfall on straw quality, and what changes are necessary in composting—specifically adjustments to pre-wetting and Phase I duration.
- Natural fermentation or decomposition of straw stored for 4–5 months in good conditions—how much actually decomposes and its implications.
- The addition of water to compost just before casing and how to manage moisture during the case run.
- Ways to increase evaporation in the growing room, including checking air carrying capacity, understanding mollier diagrams, maintaining proper bed surfaces, and assessing blower fan pressure.
Apart from technical troubleshooting, we also had valuable discussions on alternative substrate options, the importance of casing layer management, and the use of Pseudomonas in casing to enhance crop performance.
